A planned gift is an investment in AVRE's future. It demonstrates your commitment to our Mission and your desire to ensure that our services are available for years to come for people who are blind or visually impaired. Planned gifts are placed into an investment portfolio that is managed by the Foundation for Vision Rehabilitation and Employment, Inc. (FVRE).

Planned Giving Examples

Gifts under will can be made for specific amounts or a percentage of your estate. Sample language might include:

I hereby give, devise and bequeath ____ dollars to AVRE, located at 174 Court Street, Binghamton, NY 13901, or its successor-in-interest, to be used for general purposes.

Gifts from a trust are similar:

[Insert contingency, i.e., Upon the death of my spouse], the Trustee shall distribute _____ dollars to AVRE, located at 174 Court Street, Binghamton, NY 13901, or its successor-in-interest, free and clear of trust, to be used for general purposes.

Gifts of life insurance or IRAs involve naming AVRE as the beneficiary of an asset that passes outside the term of a will or trust. In order to make your wishes known, contact your insurance, IRA or retirement account custodian.
