JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Marketing and Product Manager
Reports to: Director of Business Development
FLSA Status:
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The Marketing and Product Manager will work with the Director of Business Development in managing the growth and development of new and existing products as well as the agency’s overall marketing and communications plan.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORK OF OTHERS
The incumbent is not directly responsible for the work of others, however, will provide direction and leadership to others in accomplishing business development tasks.
BUSINESS COMMUNICATION
Communication with the CEO is ongoing. Communication with Director of Business Development is ongoing.
Communication with the Director of Operations is ongoing.
Communications with the Director of Manufacturing is ongoing.
Communication with internal departments is ongoing.
Communications with vendors, suppliers, customers, and other business partners is ongoing.
Communication with NIB, NYSPSP, and other distribution channel operators and managers is ongoing.
Communication with related sales and marketing personnel (associated agencies, etc.) is regular.
SUPERVISION REQUIRED
The position requires ability to work independently, but in close coordination with the Director of Business Development. Marketing functions will also require the ability to work in coordination with and within the parameters of the CEO, the Director of Operations, and Director of Development.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related discipline required.
TRAINING AND SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
A. Must have proven writing skills, exhibiting extreme accuracy and attention to detail.
B. Experience designing marketing collateral materials. Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
C. Experience with social media platforms and online/email marketing tools.
D. Time management and organization skills.
E. Comfortable speaking one-on-one and in front of groups, both internally and externally.
F. Must have strong project management skills. Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects.
G. Knowledge of the AbilityOne and NYS Preferred Source Programs.
H. Understanding of manufacturing processes and capacities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Marketing:
a. Develop and design collateral materials as needed for agency branding, community outreach, product marketing and sales, direct-mail – both print and electronic.
b. Manage online and social media presence and work with agency management for content.
B. Product Management:
a. Subject-matter expert for existing and future product lines.
b. Work with Director of Business Development to support and execute the processes and complete the documentation to move a product from concept to launch.
c. Work with Director of Business Development to develop and complete cost analyses for new products and to keep existing products up to date.
d. Cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships with focus on development of sales opportunities.
i. Develop relationships with key contacts for all sales/distribution channels.
ii. Familiar with metrics used to measure our performance by various customers.
e. Identify opportunities for sales growth and updating of existing product lines.
i. Work with Director of Business Development on annual ETS scrubs.
ii. Work with Director of Business Development on annual price changes and reviews.
