2008 Employee of the Year Bill Decker

Bill has been employed at A.V.R.E. since 2002.  Previously he had worked for local companies mostly as a truck driver until his vision loss took him off the road.  Mr. Decker was nominated for this award by his co-workers and teammates.  According to one co-worker who supported his nomination Bill “performs his job in the best possible way. He utilizes everyone to the best of their ability."

As the local employee of the year, Bill will attend the October 2008 annual conference of National Industries for the Blind in Houston, TX with the A.V.R.E. management team.  He will join more than 50 other local employees of the year and has been nominated for the prestigious Peter J. Salmon National Blind Employee of the Year award.
